3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account using Discord OAuth authentication. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account
• Be responsible for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

3.2 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct we deem inappropriate.

4. User Content and Conduct

4.1 User Submissions

By submitting content, you warrant that:

• All claims are sourced to publicly available, credible sources
• You have the right to submit the content and grant the platform a license
• The content does not violate anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights
• You are not submitting with intent to harass, defame, or defraud
• The content complies with our Editorial Guidelines
• You will not hold us liable if the content is later disputed or removed

You indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or legal fees arising from your submission.

4.2 Prohibited Content

You may not submit:

• Unverified allegations without credible sources
• Content targeting private individuals without public interest justification
• Doxxing, addresses, phone numbers, or identifying private information
• Content submitted with intent to harass or defame
• Spam, duplicate submissions, or astroturf campaigns
• Content you know to be false
• False, misleading, or defamatory information
• Content that harasses, threatens, or harms others
• Content that violates intellectual property rights
• Content used for illegal purposes
• Attempts to gain unauthorized access to the Service
• Viruses or malicious code
• Data scraping or data mining without permission
• Impersonation of others or misrepresentation of affiliation
• Commercial solicitation or spam

Violations result in account suspension, permanent ban, and potential legal action.

5. Content Moderation

We reserve the right to review, edit, or remove any content submitted by users at our sole discretion, without notice. We are not obligated to monitor user content but may do so to ensure compliance with these Terms.

Content submitted by users is reviewed before publication. We strive to ensure accuracy but cannot guarantee the completeness or accuracy of user-generated content.

6. Copyright & Intellectual Property Claims

If you believe content violates your intellectual property rights, submit a notice to nicolas@sahnetorte.de. Include:

• Your contact information
• Identification of the infringing content
• Statement under penalty of perjury
• Your signature

We will respond within 14 days. Notices are forwarded to the content author for counter-notice rights.

6.1 Content Correction & Removal

We reserve the right to:

• Correct factual inaccuracies
• Update event status (Alleged → Convicted, etc.) as cases resolve
• Remove content that violates this agreement or legal orders
• Add "Disputed" badges when subjects contest accuracy

We generally do not delete content; we correct or contextually update it.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

7.1 Our Content

The Service, including its design, functionality, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7.2 User Content License

By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, and distribute your content in connection with the Service.

7.3 Third-Party Content

Sources and references to third-party materials are provided for informational purposes. We do not claim ownership of such materials.

8. Disclaimers and Limitations

8.1 Information Accuracy

While we strive for accuracy, the Service provides information "as is" without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content on the Service.

8.2 No Professional Advice

13.2 Forum Selection

All disputes arising under this agreement shall be governed by German law and decided by the courts of Überlingen, Germany.

13.3 Dispute Resolution Process

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through:

• Informal Negotiation: First, contact us to resolve the dispute informally
• Jurisdiction: If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Überlingen, Germany

13.4 Arbitration Clause (Optional)

Any dispute must first be resolved through binding arbitration before a neutral arbitrator, not through court litigation. Arbitration is faster and more cost-effective than court proceedings, and disputes resolved through arbitration are kept private.

This arbitration clause may not be enforceable for employee claims or certain consumer disputes; we recommend consulting with an attorney for your specific circumstances.

13.5 EU Users

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may also bring disputes in your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
